We found it very peaceful. We stayed on a Thursday night and the only sound.was the birds flying around. We booked a suite with breakfast. It had floor to ceiling windows that looked out on to the car park and the garden. We could see our car which was reassuring. The suite had large rooms. It was all very clean with a big bed and good quality bedding. The TV had lots of channels available to watch. The hotel made us feel relaxed and the staff made us feel welcome. There were hot chocolate and tea sachets lovely biscuits and bottles of water. There was a set of luxury complimentary bath products. The room was warm and we could open a window for fresh air. The staff were amazing. Carried my bag to my room. The staff were polite and Very attentive. We had dinner in the bar which was delicious and good value. We had breakfast in the library which was hot and arrived quickly. There was a very fancy multi drink maker which made a beautiful cappuccino. The staff said they had just completed a substantial refurbishment with the replacement of carpets for solid wood flooring and re-decorating throughout the hotel, which was evident as many of the walls looked newly painted. All the wooden surfaces were polished to a shine The staff played romantic music whilst we had dinner. Even though we were the only ones in the bar. The grounds are well looked after and full of trees that made the hotel very dreamy and secluded.

I stayed in a suite overlooking the front lawn and it was lovely. Truly evocative of a Victorian Gentlefolk bedroom with large raised bed area, lounge in front of a pretty (non-working) fireplace, huge separate dressing room with desk (work or make-up) and chaise lounge and a checkered bathroom with claw foot bath and over shower. Very romantic even if staying for work, but definitely so if staying for romantic reasons. The price was excellent as well being the same as a local premier inn. Breakfast was also great value and large enough to cover you until dinner time. Surroundings are lovely and worth a gentle stroll in the grounds in the fresh early morning. I will stay here again when next in Bedford and recommend it for others too.

Comfortable beds, I have stayed here once a week for around 3 months, it's just what I need, lovely big rooms, always nice and warm, very friendly staff, I always feel welcomed. Plenty of room in the overflow car park (the car park at the front gets full quite quickly) Some evenings there are functions on so there's a little less parking but I've always managed to find a space. Breakfast is great. I've had dinner a few times here and it's reasonably priced for a hotel and although I'm not a foodie I've enjoyed it when I've had it, also a well stocked bar with a few different draught offerings. I plan on staying here again and would recommend wholeheartedly.

So, looking at prior reviews I decided to book this on a whim. What I can say is that the surroundings are amazing. Located close to the city centre but far enough away to not be bothered by traffic flowing past. Plenty of parking spaces, beautiful hotel with an interesting history. Our room was fantastic, quiet and a great view of the tranquil gardens from the windows. We are coming back and hopefully sooner rather than later. Staff helpful and pleasant and the breakfast (we were out in the evenings) was perfect with plenty of choice. How this place has 3 stars I'll never know.

I stopped in a suite room, the room itself was very spacious and heated well especially for as cold a night as it was. Bed was comfy and sockets were easy to get to for charging phones/laptops etc. The Bathroom was again spacious with the amities you could require if you had forgotten anything. The food and breakfast was very fairly priced and excellent and drinks are readily available and also a fair cost. The grounds surrounding the area also look great although I didn't get to see everything due to arrival time and having to leave earlier.
